Why Twin Lakes
Federal Way sits between Seattle and Tacoma on the east shore of Puget Sound, and Twin Lakes is its calmest corner: a residential neighborhood wrapped around two connected lakes, a golf course, and a lot of tall evergreens. Our two lake house rentals sit right on the water here.
It is the kind of place where the plan is to have no plan. Coffee by the water, a paddle before breakfast, the fireplace as the light goes. But when you do want to go somewhere, you are not far from anything: SeaTac Airport and downtown Tacoma are each about 15 minutes away, Seattle is about 30 to 45 minutes up I-5, and Dash Point State Park, Wild Waves, and the trails and beaches of the South Sound are a short drive.
Because the houses are fully furnished with real kitchens, laundry, and free parking, they work as well for a month-long work assignment or a relocation as they do for a long weekend. Most of our Federal Way guests are visiting family nearby, flying in and out of SeaTac, or simply want a lake instead of a hotel corridor.

Getting around
Twin Lakes is on the west side of Federal Way, close to the Sound and to the I-5 and Highway 18 interchanges, so the drive times below are real, not optimistic.

Twin Lakes is about 15 minutes from SeaTac Airport and about 15 minutes from downtown Tacoma. Downtown Seattle is roughly 25 miles north, about 30 to 45 minutes on I-5 depending on traffic. That puts Seattle, Tacoma, and the airport all within an easy drive of the lake.
Yes. Each house has private access to the lake, and paddleboards are included with your stay. The water is calm and well suited to paddling, swimming in summer, and casting a line from the shore. Guests should bring their own life jackets for children and follow Washington fishing license rules.
Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Ask ahead for an early arrival or late departure and we will do our best. Both houses are pet-free for the comfort of all guests.
